Ecuador suffered a narrow defeat against Colombia in a vibrant match at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez in Barranquilla. The match, corresponding to matchday 12 of the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, was played on November 19, 2024, and was marked by the early expulsion of Piero Hincapié in the 34th minute.
