Sweden Crushes Azerbaijan in Dominant Display
Solna, Sweden – Sweden thrashed Azerbaijan 8-0 in a UEFA Nations League match played at the Strawberry Arena in Solna. Sweden’s dominance was overwhelming, reflected in their 63% possession and 29 shots, 14 of which were on target.
Dejan Kulusevski opened the scoring in the 10th minute, and Viktor Gyokeres bagged a hat-trick (26th, 37th, and 58th minutes). Gyokeres added another goal in the 70th minute. Alexander Isak also contributed a goal in the 57th minute. Isak missed a penalty in the 48th minute. Despite Sweden’s dominance, an Isak goal was disallowed for offside in the 45th minute.
