Guyana Rout Barbados in CONCACAF Nations League Clash
Waterford, Barbados – Guyana secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Barbados in a CONCACAF Nations League Play-In Round match held at the Barbados National Stadium on November 15th, 2024. The match was officiated by O. Hamilton.
Guyana dominated possession, enjoying 62% of the ball and registering 9 shots, 4 of which were on target. Barbados managed only 3 shots, 2 on goal.
Barbados took the lead in the 17th minute through N. Reid-Stephen, assisted by E. Taylor. However, Guyana responded emphatically. O. Glasgow scored twice, once in the 26th minute assisted by O. De Rosario and again in the 59th. O. De Rosario also found the back of the net in the 60th minute, and E. George added a late goal in the 90th minute, assisted by I. Jones.
Despite the defeat, Barbados showed fight and determination, committing 7 fouls and receiving one yellow card. Guyana committed 5 fouls and received no yellow cards.
