Boca Juniors defeated Sarmiento de Junín in an intense match
Junín, Argentina – Boca Juniors secured a 2-0 victory over Sarmiento de Junín in an exciting match played at the Estadio Eva Perón in Junín.
The first half was somewhat eventful, with four yellow cards shown, two for each team. The first yellow card went to T. Guiacobini of Sarmiento de Junín in the 38th minute. E. Zeballos and Miguel Merentiel of Boca Juniors then received yellow cards in the 41st and 43rd minutes, respectively. The 44th minute brought controversy, when a goal by J. Gho of Sarmiento de Junín was disallowed by VAR.
The second half saw a shift in the game, with Boca Juniors taking control and scoring two goals. Miguel Merentiel opened the scoring in the 77th minute, assisted by E. Cavani. K. Zenon added Boca Juniors’ second goal in the 90th minute, assisted by L. Advincula.
Despite strong pressure from Sarmiento de Junín in the final minutes, Boca Juniors managed to hold on to their lead and secure the victory.
