Red Bull Salzburg beats FC BW Linz in a thrilling match
Red Bull Salzburg secured a 2-0 victory over FC BW Linz in a thrilling match at the Hofmann Personal Stadion. Despite Salzburg’s overwhelming possession (76%), Linz stayed in the game during the first half, even having chances to open the scoring. However, Salzburg finally found the back of the net in the second half thanks to Ronivaldo and A. Briedl.
The game began at a slow pace, and neither side managed to create any real danger in the opponent’s box. Salzburg dominated possession, but Linz defended with discipline and waited for their chance to counter-attack.
The first goal came in the 46th minute, when Ronivaldo took advantage of a defensive error by Salzburg to break the deadlock. The second goal arrived in the 58th minute, this time thanks to a great finish by A. Briedl.
Despite the deficit, Linz kept fighting and had some opportunities to reduce the lead, but they couldn’t convert them. Salzburg, on the other hand, had no problem controlling the game and securing the three points.
