Al Taawon Edges Out Al Akhdoud in a Tight Encounter
Al Taawon narrowly defeated Al Akhdoud by 1-0 in a hard-fought match at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium in Buraidah. The only goal of the game came in the 90th minute, scored by Musa Barrow, who finished off a pass from Fayçal Al Jumaiya.
The match was characterized by the intensity of both teams, with numerous fouls and yellow cards. Al Akhdoud had more scoring opportunities, with 13 shots on goal compared to Al Taawon’s 7, but the visitors’ effectiveness made the difference.
Al Akhdoud started the game with more pace and was the first to receive yellow cards, with D. Lowe in the 13th minute and I. Kone in the 32nd minute. Al Taawon responded with a VAR-disallowed goal in the 56th minute, before Flavio also saw a yellow card in the 89th minute.
In the final minutes, Al Akhdoud saw Petros and S. Al Rubaie sent off, in addition to A. Adam from Al Taawon.
