FC Basel crushes Yverdon Sport in a game marked by Sauthier’s red card
Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland – FC Basel 1893 achieved a resounding 5-1 victory over Yverdon Sport in the 14th round of the Swiss Super League, played at the Stade Municipal in Yverdon-les-Bains.
The game was marked by the early expulsion of A. Sauthier in the 19th minute, leaving Yverdon Sport with a man less for most of the game. FC Basel took advantage of the numerical advantage to dominate the game, generating numerous scoring opportunities.
D. Schmid opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, and B. Traore extended the lead in the 45th minute, after an assist from X. Shaqiri. L. Avdullahu scored the third goal in the 51st minute, and Kevin closed the scoring in the 60th minute.
Yverdon Sport managed to score in the 89th minute thanks to a goal from M. Rodrigues, but it was not enough to avoid defeat.
