Ceará defeats Paysandu in an exciting match
Ceará defeated Paysandu 3-1 in an exciting match at the Estádio Governador Plácido Aderaldo Castelo in Fortaleza, Ceará. The match, corresponding to the 34th round of the Brazilian Serie B, was marked by the sending-off of Saulo Mineiro from Ceará and an own goal by Paysandu.
Saulo Mineiro opened the scoring for Ceará in the 21st minute with a penalty, but Paysandu equalized in the 47th minute with an own goal by R. Ramos. Ceará took the lead again in the 55th minute with a goal by Erick Pulga, and sealed the victory in the 60th minute with a goal by Saulo Mineiro, which was disallowed by VAR.
Despite having more possession of the ball (51%), Paysandu was less effective in attack, with 4 shots (1 on target) compared to Ceará’s 14 (7 on target).
