Khalidiya edges out Al Quwa Al Jawiya in a thrilling encounter

Baghdad, Iraq. – In a vibrant match decided in the final minutes, Khalidiya overcame Al Quwa Al Jawiya 2-1 in the third matchday of the AFC Cup group stage. The match was played at the Al-Madina International Stadium in Baghdad, under the direction of Uzbek referee R Lutfullin.

Khalidiya dominated the game for much of the encounter, but failed to capitalize on their opportunities until the 31st minute, when Mohammed Al Humaidan opened the scoring with a fine goal. Al Humaidan scored again in the 74th minute, this time with an assist from Omar Belatreche. Al Quwa Al Jawiya managed to pull one back in the 90th minute with a penalty converted by Ali Abdulnabi.

Despite the victory, Khalidiya had to deal with a tense end to the match, accumulating four yellow cards in the last 10 minutes. Al Quwa Al Jawiya, on the other hand, only received one yellow card during the entire match.
