Girona beats Slovan Bratislava 3-0 in a convincing UEFA Champions League win
Girona secured a convincing victory against Slovan Bratislava in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Goals from Martín Gutiérrez, Juanpe, and a missed penalty by Stuani sealed the deal at the Estadi Municipal de Montilivi.
The match started with a dominant Girona, quickly taking possession of the ball and creating dangerous chances. In the 42nd minute, Gutiérrez opened the scoring with a fantastic goal assisted by Danjuma.
In the second half, Girona continued to press and extended their lead with a goal from Juanpe in the 73rd minute. Despite their clear dominance, Girona also faced a scare in the 88th minute when Stuani missed a penalty. However, the result remained unchanged, and the home side secured a convincing victory.
Yellow cards for Tolic, Frances, Ignatenko, and Barseghyan were the only cautions of the match.
With this win, Girona stays in contention for qualification to the next round of the Champions League.
