Olympique Lyonnais secured a vital home win over FC Nantes, defeating them 2-1 in a captivating match at the Groupama Stadium.
Lyon controlled possession for much of the encounter (63% vs 37%), and generated more scoring opportunities (14 shots vs 9). In the 22nd minute, Nicolas Tagliafico opened the scoring after a fine assist from Said Benrahma. The goal came at a crucial moment in the match, as Nantes were proving to be a tough defensive unit.
However, Nantes responded in the second half and equalized with an own goal by Nicolas Pallois in the 54th minute. Lyon felt the blow and had to work hard to regain control.
