Rotherham wins a controversial match against Reading
Rotherham United defeated Reading 2-1 in a game filled with emotions and controversy at the AESSEAL New York Stadium. The match, corresponding to round 10 of League One, was marked by a number of yellow cards and one red card.
Reading started better and took the lead in the 26th minute with a goal from L. Wing. However, Rotherham reacted quickly and equalized in the 49th minute thanks to a goal by S. Nombe. The comeback was completed in the 56th minute with Rotherham’s second goal, scored by H. Odoffin.
The game became even more intense in the second half. K. Ehibhatiomhan, from Reading, was sent off for a second yellow card in the 69th minute. Despite playing with one man down, Reading tried to equalize the score but couldn’t get past Rotherham’s defense.
In total, nine yellow cards were shown, three to each team, in addition to the red card for Ehibhatiomhan. The game ended 2-1 in favor of Rotherham, who earn three crucial points in their fight for promotion.
