Nizhny Novgorod secures a dramatic victory over Akron
Nizhny Novgorod defeated Akron 3-2 in a thrilling match that was decided in the final minutes.
The match started with an intense pace and with Nizhny Novgorod dominating possession. In the 17th minute, D. Glazer received a yellow card for a strong tackle. Despite the initial dominance, Akron opened the scoring in the 40th minute with a goal from Benchimol, assisted by S. Loncar.
In the second half, Nizhny Novgorod came out with more determination and managed to equalize in the 47th minute thanks to a goal from S. Karic, assisted by L. Ticic. Akron responded in the 63rd minute with a goal from S. Loncar, assisted by Benchimol.
The match became uphill for Nizhny Novgorod, but Ze Turbo, who came on as a substitute, scored the equalizer in the 90th minute.
Despite the tie on the scoreboard, Nizhny Novgorod managed to take all three points thanks to a higher possession of the ball, a greater number of shots on goal and a better effectiveness in the key moments of the match.
