Al Shabab beats Al-Raed in an exciting match
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Al Shabab defeated Al-Raed 3-1 in a match of the fifth round of the Saudi Pro League, played at the King Fahd Stadium. The match was marked by the expulsion of an Al-Raed player, as well as several scoring opportunities for both teams.
The match started with an intense pace and Al-Raed surprised by opening the scoring in the 14th minute with a goal from A. Sayoud, assisted by Z. Al Hawsawi. However, Al Shabab responded with force and managed to tie in the 27th minute thanks to a goal from W. Hoedt, assisted by M. Al Juwayr.
The first half ended with a yellow card for each team: K. Al Subaie (Al-Raed) and K. A. Al Sibyani H. (Al Shabab).
The second half was characterized by the expulsion of K. Al Subaie in the 53rd minute, after receiving his second yellow card. Al Shabab took advantage of the numerical superiority and scored the second goal in the 65th minute with a goal from C. Guanca, assisted by G. Bonaventura.
Al-Raed tried to close the gap but a disallowed goal in the 71st minute by the VAR prevented them from doing so. Finally, Al Shabab sealed the match in the 88th minute with a goal from N. Al Saadi.
Al Shabab dominated the match in terms of possession (65%), shots (24 to 9) and corners (9 to 2). Al-Raed, on the other hand, had more fouls (15 to 4) but received more yellow cards (4 to 2) and a red card.
