Gillingham beats Barrow in a game dominated by the home side and yellow cards
Gillingham, Kent – Gillingham emerged victorious against Barrow in a League Two match played at Priestfield Stadium. The game was marked by home dominance, which translated into two goals and a more fluid game, although also by a large number of yellow cards for both teams.
The first goal came in the 17th minute, thanks to a goal by J. Clarke assisted by R. McKenzie. From then on, Gillingham took control of the game, but had to withstand the pressure from Barrow, who were looking for an equaliser without success.
In the 62nd minute, R. McKenzie scored the second goal for Gillingham, this time with an assist from J. Nolan. The score remained unchanged, despite Barrow’s attempts to react with some substitutions.
The second half of the match was marked by a frantic pace, with numerous yellow cards for both teams. In total, Gillingham received four yellows, while Barrow received one.
Gillingham remains one of the strongest teams in League Two, while Barrow will have to find a way to improve their game to add points.
