Aucas beat Cumbayá in a vibrant match
Aucas dominated the match with a convincing 3-0 victory over Cumbayá in the 7th round of the Liga Pro 2024.
The match, played at the Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa in Quito, started with an intense pace. Aucas opened the scoring in the 11th minute thanks to a goal by J. Ontaneda, assisted by J. Gonzalez. In the second half, Aucas was more incisive and managed to increase the difference with a goal by J. Blanco in the 54th minute, assisted by L. Cano.
Cumbayá tried to react but couldn’t find a way to score. Aucas sealed the match with a third goal in the 88th minute, scored by P. Guzman, assisted by A. Mina.
The statistics reflect Aucas’ dominance: 52% possession, 17 shots (8 on target) and 5 corners, compared to Cumbayá’s 48% possession, 10 shots (1 on target) and 4 corners. Despite the defeat, Cumbayá showed a good defensive game, without receiving any yellow cards. Aucas, on the other hand, received 2 yellow cards.
With this victory, Aucas consolidates its position in the top of the table, while Cumbayá suffers a defeat that complicates its aspirations.
