Al Kholood defeats Al Wehda Club in a tense and controversial match
Al Kholood secured a 1-0 victory in a challenging match against Al Wehda Club on the fourth matchday of the Saudi Pro League. The match, played at the King Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Mecca, was marked by the expulsion of a player from Al Wehda Club and several yellow cards.
Al Wehda Club dominated possession (65%) but failed to convert their dominance into clear goal-scoring opportunities. Al Kholood, on the other hand, was more effective and capitalized on one of their few chances to score the only goal of the match.
The only goal of the match came in the 60th minute, courtesy of a finish by A. Collado, assisted by A. Al Hawsawi.
The match was marked by controversy from the 57th minute onwards, when A. Derwish received his second yellow card and was sent off for a double booking. Al Wehda Club was forced to play with a man down for the rest of the match, making it harder for them to draw level.
