Bayer Leverkusen thrash Hoffenheim in a thrilling match
Bayer Leverkusen defeated 1899 Hoffenheim with a resounding 5-1 score in a Bundesliga match played this Saturday at the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim. The encounter was a true goal fest, with five goals in the first half and a frenetic pace that didn’t diminish until the end.
The visitors took the lead in the 17th minute with a goal from Moussa Diaby, assisted by Victor Boniface. Boniface extended Bayer Leverkusen’s lead in the 30th minute, following an assist from Granit Xhaka.
However, Hoffenheim didn’t give up and managed to close the gap in the 37th minute thanks to a goal from Muhamed Berisha, assisted by Andrej Kramaric.
Bayer Leverkusen quickly regained the lead, and in the 72nd minute Florian Wirtz scored from a penalty. Bayer Leverkusen’s fourth goal came in the 75th minute, again through Victor Boniface, this time assisted by Jeremie Frimpong.
The fifth and final goal of the match was scored by Amine Adli in the 80th minute, after an assist from Patrik Schick.
Bayer Leverkusen dominated the match from the start, with 59% possession of the ball and 17 shots on goal, 8 of which found the back of the net. Hoffenheim, on the other hand, remained at 41% possession and 15 shots, 5 of them on goal.
The match was marked by intensity, with several fouls by both teams, and yellow cards for Moussa Diaby, Ridle Baku and Kevin Akpoguma.
With this victory, Bayer Leverkusen moves into the top half of the Bundesliga standings, while Hoffenheim remains in the middle of the table.
