Cuiabá edges out Criciuma in a tight contest
Cuiabá secured a dramatic 3-1 victory over Criciuma in a thrilling match played at the Arena Pantanal in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso. The game was an exciting one from start to finish, with both teams battling for control.
The opening goal came in the 35th minute when Arthur Caike finished off a precise pass from Marcelo Hermes to put Criciuma in the lead. However, Cuiabá responded quickly and levelled the score in the 57th minute thanks to a goal from Clayson. The second half saw a frenetic pace as both teams went all out for victory.
Lucas Fernandes scored Cuiabá’s second goal in the 67th minute, giving his team the decisive advantage. Criciuma tried to fight back, but only managed to score one more goal, through Arthur Caike, in the 84th minute.
Cuiabá dominated possession with 45%, while Criciuma had 55% of the ball. Both teams created danger in attack, with Cuiabá registering 21 shots and Criciuma taking 9 shots.
Referee Rodrigo Jose Pereira de Lima had to caution two Cuiabá players and none from Criciuma during the match.
