Marseille thrash Toulouse in a game with many cards
Marseille defeated Toulouse 3-1 in a vibrant match played at the Stadium of Toulouse. The game was marked by the expulsion of a Toulouse player and the large number of yellow cards shown by the referee, Stephanie Frappart.
Marseille’s goals came in the first half, with a brace from Mason Greenwood in the 16th and 17th minutes, both assisted by Luis Henrique. The latter also scored the third goal in the 52nd minute, assisted by Amine Harit.
Toulouse tried to reduce the deficit in the second half but could only score one goal in the 90th minute, thanks to a shot from Stefan Babicka assisted by Djihad Sidibe.
Despite Marseille’s victory, the match was marked by the intensity and aggressiveness of both teams. Toulouse were left with one man less in the 27th minute when Fares Magri was sent off for a straight red card.
The referee showed a total of seven yellow cards, five to Toulouse and two to Marseille.
