Amiens beats Lorient in a close game
Amiens secured a hard-fought victory over Lorient in a close encounter for the third round of Ligue 2, played at the Stade Crédit Agricole de la Licorne in Amiens. The only goal of the match came in the 37th minute from S. Bakayoko, who took advantage of an assist from K. Kaiboue to put his team ahead.
Despite Lorient’s dominance in possession (66% compared to 34% for Amiens), the home side managed to be more effective in attack. Amiens had 14 shots, 7 of them on target, while Lorient, despite having 17 attempts, only managed to get 8 on goal.
With this victory, Amiens is in a good position in the Ligue 2 table, while Lorient will have to work to regain lost ground.
