Besiktas thrashes FC Lugano in a vibrant match
İstanbul, Turkey – Besiktas convincingly defeated FC Lugano 6-1 in a UEFA Europa League Play-offs match played at the Tüpraş Stadyumu.
The match began at a fast pace and Besiktas took the lead in the 7th minute thanks to a goal from Ciro Immobile, assisted by Arthur Masuaku. FC Lugano tried to react, but the Turkish team’s defense proved solid.
In the second half, Besiktas increased their dominance. Giovanni Fernandes scored the second goal in the 65th minute, assisted by Rafa Silva. Just a minute later, Rafa Silva extended the lead with a great goal, assisted by Rashica.
FC Lugano managed to reduce the deficit in the 59th minute with a goal from Sandro Vladi, assisted by Ianis Aliseda. However, Besiktas responded immediately, with another goal from Immobile in the 71st minute. Fernandes assisted again, highlighting his key role in the match.
Rafa Silva sealed the victory in the 70th minute with his second goal of the afternoon. Finally, Salih Ucan completed the rout in the 90th minute, finishing a great individual play.
Besiktas dominated the match with 52% possession and 18 shots on goal, including 10 that went directly towards the goal. FC Lugano, on the other hand, managed to generate 9 shots, but only 4 found the target.
