Al Shabab edges out Al Khaleej Saihat in a tight encounter
Al Shabab secured a hard-fought victory against Al Khaleej Saihat in the second round of the Saudi Pro League, played at the Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam.
The match was characterized by the tactical discipline of both teams, who contested possession of the ball in a balanced manner. Al Khaleej Saihat managed a 53% possession, while Al Shabab held onto the remaining 47%.
The first goal of the match came in the 60th minute, courtesy of Y. Carrasco for Al Shabab, after an assist from M. Kanabah. Al Shabab dominated the game from that point onwards, creating more goal-scoring opportunities despite pressure from Al Khaleej Saihat.
Al Shabab committed more fouls (19) than Al Khaleej Saihat (12), but yellow cards were distributed evenly: 2 for Al Shabab and none for Al Khaleej Saihat.
Ultimately, it was a deserved victory for Al Shabab, who capitalized on their chance to secure three crucial points at the start of the season.
