Crystal Palace thrashes Norwich in League Cup
Crystal Palace dominated Norwich City in the League Cup second round with a resounding 4-0 victory. The match, held at Selhurst Park in London, was marked by the home side’s effectiveness, who made the most of their chances to secure a win that puts them in the next round of the competition.
The opening goal came in the 2nd minute, with a goal from Daichi Kamada, assisted by Jean-Philippe Mateta. Crystal Palace continued to press and managed to increase their lead in the 57th minute, thanks to another goal from Mateta, this time with an assist from Kamada.
The rout was completed in the second half. Mateta scored his third goal of the game in the 68th minute, after an assist from Eberechi Eze. Eze, in turn, closed the scoring in the 84th minute with a shot on goal, assisted by Albert Wharton.
Norwich, meanwhile, were unable to find the back of the net and were outplayed in all facets of the game. Despite having a higher percentage of possession, the visiting team only managed to make 7 shots, of which only 3 were on target.
Crystal Palace, with this victory, demonstrated their attacking solidity and their ability to control the pace of the game. The team managed by Roy Hodgson positions itself as one of the favorites to advance in the League Cup.
