Mjallby AIF edges out IFK Norrkoping in a thrilling encounter
Mjallby AIF secured a 2-1 victory over IFK Norrkoping in a vibrant Allsvenskan match in Sweden. The encounter, played at the PlatinumCars Arena in Norrköping, was marked by intensity and a struggle from both teams.
The first goal came in the 14th minute thanks to I. Jagne, who took advantage of a pass from T. Stavitski to open the scoring. The joy for Mjallby AIF didn’t last long, as in the 29th minute, T. Stavitski extended the lead with a goal of his own after an assist from E. Stroud.
IFK Norrkoping didn’t give up and managed to pull one back in the 69th minute with a goal from C. Nyman, who received a pass from T. Prica. Despite efforts to equalize, IFK Norrkoping couldn’t break through the Mjallby AIF defense and were left with the loss.
The match was also marked by yellow cards. M. Kusu of Mjallby AIF received a caution in the 19th minute, while M. Watson and I. Lushaku of IFK Norrkoping were booked in the 90th minute, as was H. Johansson of Mjallby AIF.
Despite the defeat, IFK Norrkoping had more possession (55%) and shot more times on goal (4) than Mjallby AIF (5). However, Mjallby AIF’s effectiveness in attack was superior, allowing them to take home the three points.
