Napoli thrashes Bologna in a dominant performance
Napoli secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Bologna in the second round of the 2024 Serie A. The match was played at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples, under the whistle of Italian referee Luca J. Pairetto.
Napoli’s dominance was evident from the start. Despite having less possession of the ball, the home team was more effective in attack and capitalized on their opportunities to score three goals.
The first goal came in the 45th minute, courtesy of Giovanni Di Lorenzo, who took advantage of a pass from Kvicha Kvaratskhelia to beat the Bologna goalkeeper.
In the second half, Napoli continued to press and Kvaratskhelia extended the lead in the 75th minute with a shot from outside the box.
The third goal arrived in the 90th minute, on a counter-attack, where David Neres assisted Giovanni Simeone to seal the victory for Napoli.
Bologna, for their part, struggled to create danger in attack and only managed to register two shots on goal. The lack of finishing efficiency and Napoli’s strong defensive performance prevented the visiting team from threatening the Napoli goalkeeper.
With this win, Napoli has 6 points in two games and is positioned as one of the favorites to win the 2024 Serie A title.
