Bahia beats Gremio in an exciting match
Bahia defeated Gremio 2-0 in a vibrant match at the Estádio Alfredo Jaconi in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul.
Bahia dominated possession throughout much of the match (60% vs 40%) and took advantage of their scoring opportunities better. Thaciano was the hero of the game, scoring two goals, the first in the 45th minute with an assist from Everaldo and the second in the 76th with an assist from C. de Pena.
Gremio tried to react but couldn’t find a way to score. The game was marred by some yellow cards: Gabriel Xavier (Bahia) in the 65th minute, Y. Soteldo (Gremio) in the 68th, M. Monsalve (Gremio) in the 72nd, and Nathan (Gremio) in the 90th.
Despite the victory, Bahia couldn’t keep a clean sheet, conceding 12 shots to Gremio (4 on target, 5 off target), while they took 12 shots (5 on target, 3 off target).
Bahia continues to fight for the top positions in the Brazilian Serie A, while Gremio seeks to improve their position in the table.
