SpVgg Greuther Fürth beats Schott Mainz in the German Cup first round
SpVgg Greuther Fürth secured a 2-0 victory over Schott Mainz in the first round of the German Cup, played at the Stadion am Bruchweg in Mainz.
The match began with clear dominance from Fürth, who opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a goal by D. Srbeny. The second goal came in the 82nd minute, courtesy of S. Mustapha, who capitalized on an assist from R. Massimo to seal the win.
Despite the defeat, Schott Mainz fought resolutely. Ball possession was dominated by Fürth with 64%, but Mainz managed to take 10 shots (0 on target, 8 off target) compared to Fürth’s 26 (8 on target, 12 off target).
