Brescia beat Venezia 3-1 in a Coppa Italia first round match played at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti in Brescia.
The hosts dominated the match from the start, scoring two goals in the first 46 minutes. Gianluca Borrelli opened the scoring in the 14th minute with an assist from Daniele Bisoli, and Giovanni Olzer extended the lead in the 46th minute, again with an assist from Bisoli.
Venezia did not give up and managed to pull one back in the 89th minute thanks to a goal from Jacopo Idzes, but Olzer sealed the result with his second personal goal in the 82nd minute, assisted by Andrea Cistana.
Despite the defeat, Venezia had more possession of the ball (64% compared to Brescia’s 36%), although the home side were more effective in attack, with 9 shots on goal compared to Venezia’s 7.
