The Strongest crushes Independiente Petrolero in a dominant performance
La Paz, Bolivia – The Strongest showcased their superiority over Independiente Petrolero in a match of the ninth round of the Bolivian First Division Clausura, held this Sunday at the Hernando Siles Stadium. The team from La Paz won with a resounding 5-0, dominating possession of the ball and creating multiple scoring opportunities.
The match started at a fast pace, with The Strongest quickly taking control of the game. In the 26th minute, A. Ayarza opened the scoring with a brilliant goal, assisted by M. Ortega. Just 19 minutes later, Bruno Miranda extended the lead with a penalty, reaching halftime with a 2-0 scoreline.
In the second half, The Strongest continued their dominance. J. Chura scored the third goal in the 60th minute, while E. Triverio, who came on in the second half, added two more goals (in the 83rd and 90th minutes), the second of them assisted by G. Sotomayor. The latter also scored the fifth and final goal in the 90th minute, assisted by J. Amoroso.
The match was marked by a yellow card to E. Diaz of Independiente Petrolero in the 16th minute, and cards to V. Cuellar, J. Arrascaita and J. Godoy on the part of The Strongest, in the 49th, 62nd and 61st minutes respectively.
The Strongest demonstrated great effectiveness in attack, with 16 shots, 8 of which found the target. They also dominated possession with 67%, and managed to generate 6 corners.
On the other hand, Independiente Petrolero couldn’t find a way to break through the opponent’s defense. They only took 9 shots, 3 of them on target. They also failed to generate any corners.
