FC Basel 1893 thrashed Grasshoppers in a match full of yellow cards
Zürich, Switzerland. FC Basel 1893 dominated the match against Grasshoppers at the Stadion Letzigrund and secured a resounding 3-0 victory in the third round of the Swiss Super League. The match was marked by a large number of yellow cards, with 4 for each team, but also by a dynamic and effective game from Basel.
The first half of the game was fairly balanced, with both teams looking for the goal. However, Basel took the lead in the 25th minute with a goal from B. Traore. The second goal came in the 36th minute, thanks to a great goal from T. Barry, who received an assist from B. Traore. Before the end of the first half, Basel had a few more chances to extend their lead, but they couldn’t put them away.
In the second half, Basel continued to press and found the third goal in the 58th minute, again with T. Barry as the protagonist. The Basel striker received a pass from A. Ajeti and finished with great class.
Despite Grasshoppers’ efforts to score, Basel maintained control of the game and managed to secure three important points in the title race.
