Córdoba Dominates Possession but Fails to Overcome Eibar in Tense Match
Córdoba, Spain – In a match held at the Estadio Nuevo Arcángel, Córdoba and Eibar drew in a game marked by intensity and constant interruptions. Córdoba overwhelmingly dominated possession, controlling the ball 73% of the time, but failed to translate that superiority into goals. The home team attempted 12 shots, only 2 of which were on target, revealing a lack of effectiveness in attack.
Eibar, on the other hand, mainly focused on defending and attempting counter-attacks, but failed to generate any dangerous chances, finishing the match without a single shot on target. The match was characterized by a high number of fouls, 17 committed by Córdoba and 19 by Eibar, leading referee Miguel Gonzalez Diaz to show a total of 8 yellow cards: 5 for Córdoba players and 3 for Eibar players. Despite the high tension, no player was sent off. Córdoba had 5 corner kicks, but failed to capitalize on any of them to score.
The match, corresponding to matchday 18 of the Segunda División, left a bitter taste for Córdoba, who despite their dominance could not take the victory against an Eibar that knew how to defend tooth and nail.
