Machida Zelvia Stuns Gangwon FC Away in AFC Champions League Clash
Chuncheon, South Korea – In a match held at the Chuncheon Songam Stadium, Machida Zelvia defeated Gangwon FC with a score of 3 to 1, in a game corresponding to the group stage of the AFC Champions League. The Japanese team, despite having less ball possession (32% compared to Gangwon FC’s 68%), demonstrated great effectiveness in attack.
K. Sento opened the scoring for Machida Zelvia in the 24th minute, assisted by A. Masuyama. Four minutes later, H. Shimoda extended the lead for the visitors. Before halftime, Oh Se-Hun scored the third goal for Machida Zelvia, with another assist from K. Sento.
In the second half, Gangwon FC tried to react and managed to pull one back in the 55th minute with a goal from H. Park, assisted by Kim Dae-Won. However, despite their territorial dominance and a total of 11 shots, including 4 on target, Gangwon FC was unable to overturn the result.
