Chelsea Secures Hard-Fought Victory Against Burnley at Turf Moor
In a tense match held at Turf Moor, Chelsea managed to overcome Burnley in a game filled with tension and cards. Despite enjoying greater possession (57% compared to Burnley’s 43%), the London team had to work hard to secure the win.
The first half saw P. Neto put Chelsea ahead in the 37th minute, assisted by J. Gittens. However, Neto himself received a yellow card shortly after, in the 41st minute. Burnley responded with a solid defense and looked for counter-attacking opportunities.
The second half continued with the same intensity. K. Walker of Burnley received a yellow card in the 49th minute, followed by Joao Pedro of Chelsea in the 69th minute. The match was characterized by numerous interruptions and physical play.
In the final minutes, E. Fernandez sealed the victory for Chelsea in the 88th minute, thanks to an assist from M. Guiu. Despite Chelsea’s 15 shots (5 on target) compared to Burnley’s 7 (only 1 on target), the match was much more balanced than the statistics suggest. Referee Peter Bankes issued five yellow cards in total (three for Chelsea and two for Burnley), demonstrating the intensity of the encounter.
