Charleroi Defeats KVC Westerlo in Home Match
Charleroi, Belgium – In a match corresponding to the 14th round of the Jupiler Pro League, Charleroi secured a crucial victory over KVC Westerlo at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi. Despite having less ball possession (38%) compared to Westerlo (62%), Charleroi was more effective in front of goal.
Y. Titraoui opened the scoring for Charleroi in the 44th minute with a goal, assisted by A. Scheidler, just before halftime. In the second half, A. Scheidler extended the lead for the home side in the 70th minute, thanks to an assist from P. Pflucke.
KVC Westerlo, despite dominating possession and having more shots (14 against Charleroi’s 12), failed to convert their opportunities, sending six shots off target. Charleroi, on the other hand, showed greater precision, with eight of their twelve shots directed on goal.
