Colo Colo and Deportes Limache engage in a fiery match at the Monumental
Santiago de Chile – In a game full of emotions and controversies, Colo Colo defeated Deportes Limache at the Estadio Monumental David Arellano. The match, valid for matchday 25 of the Primera División, was marked by numerous cards and intense play.
Colo Colo took the lead early thanks to a goal by C. Aquino in the 17th minute, assisted by V. Pizarro. The “Albo” dominance was reflected in ball possession, reaching 61%. However, the game became more physical and disputed, with a series of yellow cards for both teams. The expulsion of Y. W. Andia Leon from Deportes Limache and later of S. Vegas from Colo Colo conditioned the development of the game.
In the second half, L. Cepeda extended Colo Colo’s lead in the 69th minute. It seemed the match was settled, but Deportes Limache reacted in the final minutes. D. Castro pulled one back in the 83rd minute, assisted by M. Llanten, and L. Hernandez equalized in the 90th minute, assisted by Y. Zapata, leaving the final result very tight. Colo Colo created more scoring chances, with 15 total shots, although only 4 were on target. For its part, Deportes Limache tried to take advantage of its opportunities with 10 shots, of which 3 were on target. The referee, Diego Flores Seguel, had an arduous task, showing a total of 9 yellow cards and 2 red cards.
