Hibernian Snatch Victory in Thrilling Pittodrie Encounter
Aberdeen, Scotland – An electrifying match at Pittodrie Stadium saw Hibernian snatch a victory over Aberdeen in a closely contested duel. The match, part of the Scottish Premiership’s ninth round, was an emotional rollercoaster until the very last second.
Hibernian took the lead in the 34th minute with a goal by T. Klidje, assisted by J. Mulligan, showcasing effectiveness in their approaches to the opponent’s area. Aberdeen, with superior ball possession (54%), attempted to react but encountered a well-organized Hibernian defense. Despite generating 16 shots, only 5 managed to reach the goal.
The second half continued with the same intensity. In the final minutes, Hibernian seemed to seal the game with a goal by T. Youan in the 88th minute, after an assist from J. Campbell. However, Aberdeen did not give up and found a dramatic goal in the 90th minute through M. Lazetic, unassisted. A goal disallowed for Hibernian due to offside, also in the 90th minute, further increased the tension. The referee of the match, Don Robertson, cautioned D. Barlaser and J. Mulligan from Hibernian. Hibernian took the victory by a narrow margin, demonstrating efficiency and resistance against an Aberdeen side that dominated possession but failed to convert its opportunities. Hibernian had 19 shots (6 on target), generating more danger than their rival.
