Clermont Foot Stuns Guingamp on Their Home Turf
Guingamp, France – In a match held at the Stade de Roudourou, Clermont Foot defeated Guingamp with a score of 1-0 in the eleventh round of Ligue 2. Despite dominating possession with 63%, Guingamp failed to translate their superiority into goals.
The match, refereed by Aurelien Petit, was marked by physical play, reflected in the numerous fouls committed by both teams (10 for Guingamp and 11 for Clermont Foot). Yellow cards were also a constant feature, with two for Guingamp (D. Gomis and A. Sissoko) and three for Clermont Foot (C. O. Konate, J. Gastien and A. Ackra).
The only goal of the match came early in the second half, in the 47th minute, thanks to I. Fakili, assisted by J. Gastien, giving Clermont Foot the victory. Although Guingamp tried to react with 20 total shots, only 3 were on target, demonstrating Clermont Foot’s defensive solidity. Clermont Foot, on the other hand, was more effective with their scarce 4 shots, one of them ending in a goal. The home fans were left disappointed at the Stade de Roudourou.
