Millwall Edges Out QPR in Card-Filled Match
London, England – Millwall defeated QPR at Loftus Road in a Championship match that was far from uneventful. Despite QPR dominating possession with 57%, Millwall proved to be more effective in front of goal.
The first goal of the match came in the 36th minute thanks to F. Azeez, who opened the scoring for Millwall. Just before halftime, M. Ivanovic extended the visitors’ lead in the 45th minute.
In the second half, QPR attempted a comeback, but failed to capitalize on their opportunities. R. Burrell pulled one back for QPR in the 85th minute, but it was not enough to change the course of the game.
The match was characterized by a high number of fouls and yellow cards. Millwall received three yellow cards (R. Leonard, J. Cooper, and A. Doughty) while QPR received two (R. Norrington-Davies and P. Smyth).
Although QPR generated more shots and corners, Millwall’s effectiveness in front of goal was decisive in securing the victory.
