Thrilling Draw in Konya as Konyaspor and Istanbul Basaksehir Share the Spoils
Konya, Turkey – A vibrant and eventful match unfolded today at the Medas Konya Büyüksehir Stadyumu, where Konyaspor and Istanbul Basaksehir drew two-all in a Süper Lig clash corresponding to the seventh round.
Konyaspor took the lead in the 16th minute thanks to a goal from A. Ndao, who capitalized on an excellent assist from J. Muleka. The home side’s joy extended to the end of the first half when an own goal from J. Opoku extended Konyaspor’s advantage just before the break.
However, Istanbul Basaksehir returned to the field with renewed energy. E. Shomurodov narrowed the gap in the 57th minute, after an assist from M. Crespo. The match became even more complicated for Konyaspor when E. Bardhi was sent off in the 65th minute after receiving his second yellow card. Despite playing with ten men, Konyaspor withstood the onslaught from Istanbul Basaksehir, who dominated ball possession with 69%.
Istanbul Basaksehir generated a greater number of chances, with 16 shots in total, although only four were on target. Konyaspor, with 31% possession, managed five shots on target out of their 13 attempts. The match was officiated by referee Oguzhan Cakir, who showed four yellow cards to Konyaspor, in addition to the red card to Bardhi. Basaksehir received no cautions.
