Dinamo Zagreb Defeats Fenerbahce in an Intense Match
Zagreb, September 24, 2025 – Dinamo Zagreb claimed victory over Fenerbahce in a hard-fought match at Stadion Maksimir, in the first matchday of the UEFA Europa League group stage. The match, officiated by French referee Jérôme Brisard, was marked by intensity and numerous yellow cards shown.
Dinamo Zagreb opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a goal from D. Beljo. However, Fenerbahce reacted quickly, with S. Szymanski equalizing in the 25th minute. The match continued at a frenetic pace, leading to several cautions for both teams before halftime.
In the second half, D. Beljo put Dinamo Zagreb ahead again in the 51st minute, assisted by A. Hoxha. Despite Fenerbahce’s dominance in possession (58% compared to Dinamo’s 42%), the Turkish team failed to find a way to equalize. In the dying moments of the game, M. Bakrar sealed the victory for Dinamo Zagreb with a goal in the 90th minute, assisted by S. Kulenovic.
