Wrexham Stages Comeback Victory at Carrow Road Against Possession-Dominant Norwich
Norwich, Norfolk – In a thrilling match held at Carrow Road, Wrexham surprised Norwich City with a 3-2 victory. Despite dominating possession with 61%, Norwich failed to capitalize on their superiority, suffering a defeat on their home turf.
The match began with a yellow card for Norwich’s M. Topic in the 13th minute. Norwich took the lead in the 39th minute thanks to a goal by J. Stacey, assisted by M. Jurasek. However, Wrexham returned from halftime with renewed energy. J. Windass equalized in the 47th minute, assisted by I. Kabore. Wrexham’s comeback continued with a goal from R. Longman in the 54th minute, again assisted by I. Kabore, and a second goal from J. Windass in the 59th minute, this time assisted by M. Cleworth.
Wrexham also received several yellow cards throughout the match, for C. Doyle, L. O’Brien, and G. Dobson. Despite dominating possession, Norwich only managed to close the gap late in the game, with a goal from J. Makama in the 90th minute.
Wrexham proved to be more effective in front of goal, with 7 shots on target compared to Norwich’s 5. Norwich committed fewer fouls (6) than Wrexham (9), but it wasn’t enough to secure the victory. Referee David Webb officiated the match without major incidents.
