Sassuolo Upsets Lazio in Reggio Emilia
Reggio Emilia witnessed a hard-fought match at the MAPEI Stadium – Città del Tricolore where Sassuolo defeated Lazio with a goal at the 70th minute by A. Fadera, assisted by T. Muharemovic. The match, officiated by Paride Tremolada, was marked by high intensity and numerous yellow cards. Sassuolo, with 42% possession, managed to capitalize on one of the few clear goal-scoring opportunities they had, securing the winning goal with a precise shot. Lazio, despite dominating possession with 58% and generating 11 shots (the same as their rival), only managed to get 3 of them on target and failed to convert their attacks. The match was characterized by a physical game, evidenced by the 13 fouls committed by Sassuolo and the 11 by Lazio, as well as the eight yellow cards shown throughout the match. Sassuolo’s victory, within the third round of the 2025 Serie A season, was undoubtedly surprising, considering the theoretical superiority of their rival.
