CRB Secures Home Victory Against Paysandu with Second-Half Double
Maceió, Alagoas – CRB defeated Paysandu in a match held at Estádio Rei Pelé, corresponding to Round 24 of the Brazilian Serie B. The match, officiated by Edina Alves Batista, remained tied during the first half, but CRB managed to tip the scales in the second half.
Thiaguinho opened the scoring for CRB in the 49th minute with a goal after an assist from Higor Meritao. CRB slightly dominated ball possession (53% compared to Paysandu’s 47%) and generated a total of 13 shots, 4 of which were on target. Paysandu, on the other hand, tried to trouble the opponent’s goal with 16 shots, also with 4 directed at the goal.
In added time, Mikael sealed the match for CRB, scoring the second goal in the 90th minute. Paysandu, which accumulated 10 fouls and saw Leandro Vilela receive a yellow card at the end of the match, could not react to CRB’s push. The match ended with a victory for the home team, consolidating their position in the league standings.
