Polessya Dominates Paks in Emotionally Charged Match
Zhytomyr, August 7, 2025 – In a vibrant and fiercely contested match at the Futbal Tatran Arena, Polessya defeated Paks in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League. The home team demonstrated their superiority with 57% possession and a constant attack that resulted in three goals.
The first goal came in the 41st minute, scored by O. Andriyevski, assisted by B. Krushynskyi, opening the score and igniting the fans. Just before halftime, in the 45th minute, D. Beskorovaynyi extended the lead with an accurate shot, assisted by B. Lednev, sending Paks into the locker room with a considerable disadvantage.
In the second half, in the 58th minute, B. Lednev sealed Polessya’s victory with another goal, once again assisted by B. Krushynskyi, consolidating the home team’s dominance. Although Paks tried to react, their offense failed to penetrate Polessya’s solid defense, which only allowed two shots on goal.
The match was also characterized by intense play and the accumulation of cards. Polessya received two yellow cards and a red card in the 90th minute for B. Mykhaylichenko, while Paks saw a yellow card for A. Kinyik also at the end of the match. With 14 shots in total (8 on target) and 5 corners, Polessya justified their victory, while Paks, with 10 shots (2 on target) and 6 corners, failed to capitalize on their opportunities.
