Sporting Cristal Dominates Comerciantes Unidos at Estadio Alberto Gallardo
Sporting Cristal convincingly defeated Comerciantes Unidos in a match held at the Estadio Alberto Gallardo in Lima, showcasing superior possession and effectiveness. The match, corresponding to matchday 17 of the Apertura of the Peruvian Primera División, saw Sporting Cristal control the ball with 60% possession, generating a greater number of goal opportunities.
The first half passed without goals, but with two yellow cards for Comerciantes Unidos players, K. Paico in the 29th minute and J. Marina in the 39th, foreshadowing a contested match.
The second half witnessed Sporting Cristal’s offensive display. M. Cauteruccio opened the scoring in the 51st minute with a penalty goal. Just three minutes later, F. Pacheco extended the lead with a goal from open play in the 54th minute, assisted by Cauteruccio himself, consolidating the celestial dominance.
