Ukraine U21 Defeats Finland U21 in an Emotionally Charged Match
Košice, Slovakia – Ukraine U21 defeated Finland U21 in a match held at the Košická futbalová aréna, part of the group stage of the 2025 UEFA U21 Championship. The match, refereed by Swiss official Alessandro Dudic, was characterized by intense play and a high number of cards.
Ukraine dominated possession with 55% compared to Finland’s 45%. The first goal came in the 28th minute, scored by V. Vanat, assisted by a teammate. Ukraine extended their lead early in the second half, in the 49th minute, with a goal by M. Bragaru, assisted by V. Veleten.
Despite the deficit, Finland tried to react, but encountered a solid Ukrainian defense. The match became physical, with numerous fouls and bookings.
